Job Description

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Full-Time in Nottingham, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for visitors and tenants. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel or authorities.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and/or directing visitors as needed.
• Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following established protocols and providing assistance as directed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or observations as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
