As the Senior Manager of SMA (Separately Managed Accounts) & ISA (Institutional Separate Accounts) Performance Reporting, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing fund performance, factsheets, investment reviews and due diligence advisor reports along with oversight of the reporting application (IMDM) and associated applications. You’ll oversee and review supplemental accounting reports for unitized Separately Managed Accounts, Stable Value Funds, Unitized Stock, and DB investment options within the Employee Benefit Plans of Empower recordkeeping clients.

What you will do:

  • Manage managers and their teams who are responsible for the investment reporting function for performance reports, supplemental accounting reports, fund fact sheets, investment reviews and due diligence advisor reports
  • Oversee investment presentation in the client statements on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Oversee annual reporting and Form 5500 for ERISA requirements
  • Oversee Form 5500 updates and changes in regulation and oversee updates required to the Supplemental Accounting Reporting system that are needed because of regulatory updates
  • Research and propose new disclosures and modifications to reports in response to new pronouncements, guidelines and investment types.   Work with Legal and Regulatory Compliance teams to implement new requirements
  • Interpret new pronouncements and guidelines issued by authoritative associations and consider reporting implications.   Recommend appropriate changes to systems and presentation of information to reflect new requirements
  • Oversee process improvements and system enhancements to increase overall effectiveness and efficiency to support internal and external reporting initiatives. Ensure enhancements enable function wide efficiency for both the SMA Reporting team and the ISA Reporting team
  • Manage the design and implementation of controls pertaining to reporting processes. Maintain an effective control environment through the mitigation and remediation of control compliance issues for both the SMA Reporting team and the ISA Reporting team
  • Maintain relationship with external vendors (including contract negotiation) associated with the ISA application

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years of financial reporting experience required
  • Public accounting or investment-related financial reporting experience
  • Previous experience in performance reporting on investments
  • Ability to utilize creativity thinking towards improvement of business processes and internal controls, and follow-thru in all stages from design into implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience leading or managing teams
  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

What will set you apart:

  • Previous experience in separate accounts strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with fund fact sheet reporting strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in performance reporting on investments
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Attention to detail, analytical acumen and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing priorities
  • Self-driven with ability to deal with ambiguity, a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
  • Process improvement mindset
