As a Medical Technologist, you will perform and interpret tests at all complexity levels. Using your understanding of the theories and technical, procedural and problem-solving aspects of Laboratory Science, you will aid in the search to determine the best mode of care for patients. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to expand your knowledge through extensive hands-on experience with some of the best researchers and specialists.
We will hire our clinical laboratory testing personnel in three different job titles, based on educational background:
Medical Technologist
Med Lab Technician
Lab Technician
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying evenings from 3:00PM – 11:30PM or nights from 11:00PM – 7:30AM. Availability to work on both weekdays and weekends is required.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
Conduct quality laboratory testing and result reporting.
Ensure that results are reported in compliance with the goals and standards of the department, hospital and applicable accrediting organizations (AHCA, CLIA, COLA, and JCAHO).
Accurately identify each patient specimen and testing orders and ensure results are accurate and reported in a timely manner.
Ensure specimen integrity and identification and resolve specimens not meeting testing criteria.
Identify and resolve pending specimen results from laboratory information system for assigned departments.
Report pertinent information to the physician, patient care area or supervisor (e.g., panic values, instrument malfunctions, delay in testing, reagent or supply depletion).
Note “dates opened” and “expiration dates” and use reagents and controls only to their expiration dates.
