We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented individual to continue to raise our high bar in EH&S standards. This position will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the general employee health and safety programs for a fast-paced, high volume fabrication and assembly environment. The position will also focus on assisting with supporting the environmental programs at the factory. Our Indianapolis facility is transforming into a furnace center of excellence with focus on innovation, customer experience and talent and we are looking for an individual who is ready to join, contribute and grow during this exciting time!

This is a 2nd shift position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sustain and continuously improve the EH&S management system at the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with safety related programs covered under OSHA 1910 regulations that include: HAZCOM, confined space, industrial hygiene, PPE, emergency action planning, among many others.
  • Update and maintain applicable written procedures, policies, and programs
  • Coordinate and conduct EHS training as necessary
  • Lead and participate on committees to meet environmental goals and improve processes
  • Design, develop, interpret, recommend, and comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and company policy
  • Complete environmental reporting with respect to company and regulatory requirements, tracking progress toward goals and driving continuous improvement actions
  • Assist with maintaining of the environmental permits (air, waste, water.)
  • Develop and deploy standard safe work practices and procedures as appropriate.
  • Track EHS related internal audit corrective and preventive action plans to ensure timely completion
  • Collect and analyze EHS data and report metrics and findings to the business
  • Conduct EHS management system and/or compliance audits, as assigned
  • Partner with operations, engineering and other functions to support plant programs and goals
  • This position is strictly 2nd shift

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with environmental, health or safety

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA degree preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment within environmental, health and safety
  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal EH&S regulations
  • Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly
  • Possess strong organizational, leadership and time management skills
  • Highly motivated and possesses superior follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Experience working with union-represented employees
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to use software applications including Microsoft Office products and other internal programs.
