The Team
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) within the RHH and in accordance with the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework provides the State’s only Level 6 medical imaging service. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
- works in collaboration and under the general direction and guidance of the NUM DMI, to support and work collaboratively with less experienced nurses in the medical imaging team, participating in orientation, precepting, clinical teaching, overseeing learning experiences and goal setting for nursing novices and those new to medical imaging nursing.
- is responsible for the clinical supervision, coaching and assessment of novice nurses and nurses new to imaging nursing, in the clinical environment. The position will work across all modalities in the Department of Medical Imaging.
- works collaboratively with the education and clinical teams and supports the NUM in achieving learning and development goals in DMI.
You will need
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$102,439 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
