Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer. This role is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

This candidate will join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Segment’s Software & System Integration Team (SSIT) Element. They will contribute to the Weapon System Integration (WSI) Electrical Design Integration (EDI) Team. This role will support the EDI Team with electrical system design, cross-segment integration, verification activities, and analyses for systems and subsystems. Candidates must be able to understand the intent of Weapon System designs and the engineering processes.  The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate foundational electrical engineering knowledge with verbal and written communication skills are required.

This position is for a Systems Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background and wide interests whose expertise can be applied to the Sentinel program. Responsibilities may include:

  • Be proficient in the development of key system engineering artifacts such as requirement specifications and interface definition documents.   
  • Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, and requirements analyses for integrated systems
  • Responsible for supporting the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions as well as the translation of customer requirements into electrical design specifications.
  • May perform research, evaluation, and systems integration in electrical or electro-mechanical systems, cables, connectors, circuit card assemblies, power systems, computer systems, test equipment, and more.
  • May apply research to the planning, design, development, simulation and testing of electrical systems for use in military applications.
  • Support analysis at all levels of total weapon system product lifecycle to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance.
  • Perform system modeling and simulation efforts and related design tasking to include technical whitepapers, presentations, stakeholder demos, etc.
  • Support consistent design and testing processes across the weapon system
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to work effectively to understand system level interdependencies that impact electrical requirements and design constraints
  • Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 0 years of experience with Master's degree
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 y
