Named by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last three years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a 20-hour Weekend Hospital and Admissions Nurse Liaison (WHANL) to join its expanding Admission team. This is an on-site position located at Mass General Hospital (a parking space is provided).

Job Responsibilities:

The position of Weekend Hospital and Admissions Nurse Liaison (WHANL) is to provide information about hospice services to patients, families, and hospital-based staff, to conduct clinical assessments, coordinate hospital discharge plans, and maintain professional relationships within hospitals, with a focus on the assigned hospital(s). 

Schedule and Weekly Hours:

This is a 20-hour position to work on weekends (10 hours on both Saturday and Sunday).

Education, Skills and Experience:

• Licensed by the Commonwealth of MA as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years experience preferred in community health, oncology, hospice, or palliative care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, Good Shepherd colleagues, patients, and their families
• Highly skilled at providing patient assessments and evaluations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Competency with accepted standards of hospice nursing practice.

Pay Range:

$43,000-$53,000: This number reflects an average starting range for this position. Individual pay is determined through a variety of factors including experience, education, certifications, and skills and can exceed the starting range.
