POSITION SUMMARY:
The CenterPoint Energy Kitchen Manager, under the direction from the CenterPoint Energy YMCA Director, will serve the Glenwood Neighborhood through supplying community meals and supplemental nourishment to youth and participants of the CenterPoint Energy YMCA. This position also requires an individual to follow and uphold the mission of the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, Inc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collect, review, and maintain all necessary documentation
- Create and maintain menu for program participants and community members
- Prepare meals for up to approximately 50 programs participants daily, and up to approximately 78 community members on occasional weekends
- Procure, Prepare, and store food products in compliance with ServSafe safety practices
- Maintain inventory and delivery of all required supplies
- Monitor cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and food storage areas, including but not limited to running dishwashers, sweep, mop, trash, cleaning ovens and hard surfaces
- Create and maintain several rotating HEPA standard menus
- Create and maintain a budget, under the supervision of the CenterPoint Energy YMCA Director and/or Outreach Branch Executive Director
- Assist with nutrition education and healthy meal prep classes
- Provide feedback to cleaning staff who do deep clearing each week as to quality/compliance with cleaning standards of health department and other regulators
CACFP WORK FUNCTION EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate existing and proposed USDA Child and Adult Care Food Programs.
- Provide technical assistance and consulting services to sponsors regarding USDA regulations, policies, and instructions.
- Prepare and submit written reports.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with sponsor agencies, administrators, staff, teachers, parents, children, interested groups, and governmental agencies.
- Collaborate with appropriate professionals regarding nutrition education research and resource materials related to Child Nutrition Programs.
- Manage meals and snacks service to meet the requirements set forth in the CACFP Meal Pattern for Children. The chart specifies the required food components and portion sizes.
- Verify required components are served to the child for the meal or snack to be reimbursable.
- Confirm At-Risk After-School Programs operating on school days serve the meal and/or snack to children after their school day ends. ( At-Risk After-School Programs that operate on weekends, holidays and/or during school vacation periods may serve the meal and/or snack at any time during the day.)
