Your Purpose

As a Data Governance Lead, your mission will be to ensure data is managed well, kept secure, is trustworthy, and easily accessible. You will be responsible for the development of data principles and policies, building a strategy & roadmap for policy adoption, monitoring the data governance program and setting measurable goals. 

 

This pivotal role requires communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Additionally, it requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute. Finally, it requires a an entrepreneurial mindset; catering to new technologies or techniques to drive the governance program forward. 

Who You Are

• Proven English fluency
• BS or Masters in Computer Science or similar
• Strong communication skills
• 3+ years experience implementing and developing data governance best practices
• 3+ years experience with data quality best practices
• Experience with DAMA or any data governance framework
• Strong knowledge with AWS or similar cloud providers
• Strong knowledge with data engineering tools and practices
• Works effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams to come up with & implement the best solutions, moving people to act

Nice To Have

DAMA or any Data Governance certification

• Working experience in a hypergrowth company, or in the FinTech industry, is a plus
• Experience with multiple DBMS
• Product Management or Program Management experience

What You Will Do

• Create a roadmap for Bitso to consolidate data security, data quality and proper data classification and metadata. 
• Oversee the implementation of relevant processes to govern data Lifecycle capabilities and ensure all relevant governance forums and working groups are functioning efficiently in coordination with the Data Governance team.
• Ensure alignment across the business lines and global functions on enterprise Data Governance strategy roll out, including new data risk taxonomy and associated changes to key risk indicators and control framework
• Responsible for detailed analysis of governance metrics including data governance adoption, maturity and adherence
• Develop and manage approach for measuring adoption of principles, policies, processes and practices
• Prepare executive/management level reporting and other regulator-required updates
• Facilitates info sharing & best practices across the Strategy & Transformation Team
• Produce recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes and practices for data management needs
