The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Computer Science beginning in fall 2024. The successful candidate will join twenty other full-time department faculty. The department offers undergraduate majors in computer science, data science, mathematics, and applied mathematics, as well as a Masters degree in computer science. The standard teaching load for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor is 12 credits per semester. While teaching undergraduate computer science courses will be expected, the position may also include opportunities to teach graduate courses in our MS in Computer Science program. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have:

A Ph.D./A.B.D. in computer science or a closely related discipline is preferred, but candidates with an M.S. degree and extensive applicable experience will also be considered. A successful candidate who does not possess a Ph.D. will be hired as an Instructor of Computer Science. 

Exceptional promise in teaching at the undergraduate level.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
