Manufacturing Chemist II

About this opportunity :

 

As an Manufacturing Chemist, you will execute chemistry and related activities for the manufacturing of oligonucleotides according to company processes. This position is open on our rotating 8:00am - 8:00pm shift and works a standard 2-2-3 panama shift schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Responsible for the implementation of assigned production procedures working within defined production schedules.
• Responsible for performing all work within company and cGMP regulatory compliance
• May specialize in either purification or synthesis processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with defined procedures.
• Assist Process Support group in the execution of special projects and data collection.
• Demonstrate proficiency of basic manufacturing processes including: 
  • general solution preparation and column packing
  • lab cleaning, changeover, start up and shut down
  • routine equipment monitoring chart recorders and spectrophotometers
• Qualify on the execution of key manufacturing processes which may include all or portions of the following:
  • synthesis
  • cleavage and deprotection 
  • chromatography ultrafiltration
  • freeze-drying
• May train and qualify lower levels on basic job functions.
• May revise procedures under the direction of supervision

 
Required Skills/Abilities:

 

• Minimum education requires high school diploma or equivalent with college level chemistry or equivalent work experience. A biotechnology certificate or college degree is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of basic laboratory instrumentation such as use of pH meter, UV instrumentation, and solution delivery systems (process skids).
• Experience in cGMP manufacturing environment
