Work Shift
Job Summary:
This position is located at Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center in Grovetown, Georgia and reports to the Exec. Director Supply Chain Operations. Responsible for Supply Chain Operations in all Clinical, Med/Surg, and Emergency areas at designated hospital and ambulatory sites.
Responsible for development of annual operating and capital financial plans for sites under scope of responsibility. Assist with developing and implementing operational goals, metrics, and policies and procedures.
Serves as Supply Chain liaison to facility leadership and administration. Must be able to manage time effectively to provide effective oversight to areas of operations. Must possess ability to provide direction to direct and indirect reports under scope of responsibility. Must be a strong change agent able to implement supply chain strategies within defined facilities. Strong background in inventory management and logistics required. In collaboration with Clinical and Senior Leadership, identifies and implements Supply Chain strategic initiatives.
Oversees facilities par form and par level management, supply ordering and replenishment, and accurate shipping and receiving functions with the proper use of inventory management technologies. Assist with coordinating, scheduling, and conducting annual and periodic inventories with Internal Audit.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Financial Analysis, Tracking and Reporting:
a.Performs analysis and develops annual operating and capital financial plan for Supply Chain at sites of responsibility.
b.Monitors monthly Financial Responsibility Reports to identify any variance and develop corrective action plan for unfavorable results.
c.Monitors FTEs, overtime and productivity and adjusts as appropriate to be within budget and within standards.
d.Implements and monitors metrics for Clinical, Med/Surg, and Emergency areas for sites (hospital inventory, receiving, and distribution). Establishes baselines tracks and reports metrics (inventory turns, dollars per operating suite, dollars per procedure, non-file purchases, requisitioning compliance, freight, inventory reductions) for cost- savings, and utilization improvements.
e.Continually evaluating product stocking levels, freight and shipping strategies, receiving and other business processes in order to maximize financial value to hospital and Health System.
Strategic and Operation Policies:
a.Provides oversight for system and supply chain policy and holds team accountable. Ensures consistent application of policy across all areas of responsibility.
b.Prepares policies and procedures in collaboration with hospital and clinical leadership, updates policies and procedures in supply areas, and ensures compliance.
c.Creates and completes annual operational goals, including timelines, metrics and work plans.
d.Ensures the above is completed by all Supply Managers, Supervisors, and Coordinators for their respective areas.
e.Implements WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls.
f.Utilizes market intelligence to identify areas of opportunity for standardization and utilization improvement (including new technologies, RFID, and bar code scanning).
Supply Chain Operations Management:
a.Provides semi-annual and annual goals and evaluations.
b.Provides direction for establishing and/or execute department GPTW action planning and goals.
c.Ensures all newly hired Supply Chain Managers, Supervisors, Supply Coordinators, and Inventory Specialists, attend appropriate orientation.
d.Holds regular meetings for review, feedback, and updates.
e.Holds and/or participates in all departmental business reviews.
f.Hires, trains, coaches, and develops Supply Managers, Supervisors, Supply Coordinators, and Inventory Specialists as well as ensures that each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities.
g.Oversees and directs activities for the Supply Managers, Supervisors, Supply Coordinators, and Inventory Specialist as well as ensures the proper management and direction of their Supply team members.
