Kitchen Assistant - Stone Canyon

    

Job Description:

Provides assistance in the daily preparation of the camp meal program. Must be able to provide high quality service to students, adolescents, and adults from various groups. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Must be available to work some weekends when a program is booked.

Minimum Experience:
• At least one (1) year experience in an institutional setting or large food service facility that serves 100 or more individuals a meal.
• At least one (1) year prep line experience required; able to independently follow the menu and recipe instructions without supervision.

Essential Physical Requirements:
• Frequent lifting forty (40) pounds
• Constant standing, walking
• Frequent squatting, reaching, stooping

    

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

    

Responsibilities:

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Assist in the ordering and receiving of deliveries when needed. Store food and supplies as directed by supervisor.

Assist in the set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students.

Have knowledge to operate standard commercial kitchen equipment according to safe, recommended methods.

Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods including but not limited to allergies, vegetarian foods, dairy free, gluten free, and other dietary issues as stated on camper registration and/or medical form.

Serve meals daily while ensuring compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control (HACCP) plan and health department sanitation standards. Actively pursue upcoming regulatory changes and provide sustainable solutions.

Provide assistance in daily preparation of the camp meals.

  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
