Job Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all stages and departments as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the development, design, art & photo, and production needs of assigned print and digital projects/programs.
  • Communication management: Serves as the communication lead on assigned projects, coordinating among all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Schedule management: Creates, updates, and manages client-facing and internal schedules and status reports. Ensures that projects stay on schedule. Schedules and status reports may exist in MS Excel, Google Spreadsheets, Smartsheet, JIRA, or other standard or proprietary platforms.   
  • Budget management: Creates, updates, and manages internal trackers for revenue and cost. Ensures that there are no cost over-runs or surprises for revenue and cost perspectives.
  • Quality management: Reviews deliverables before these are sent to customers to make sure these meet customer expectations.
  • Resource management: Develops and directs freelance teams; ensures that adequate resources are available for each service area.
  • Workflow management: Ensures that the right workflow is used in each service area based on the needs of the client, project, and program.
  • Risk management: Identifies and mitigates any risks to the projects/programs assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree minimum
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; demonstrated success working on both print and digital products.

  

  • Thorough understanding of the entire product lifecycle for PreK-12 print and digital products including prototyping, development, design management, media asset development, production (print & digital), and accessibility.
  • Ability to interact with client contacts. 
  • Ability to develop or interpret workflow and specification instructions effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and facilitate new product development, including content prototype development, writers’, and editors' guidelines.
  • Experience managing workflows involving both onshore and offshore teams and coordinating with offshore project managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects independently.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an energetic, deadline-driven, and highly creative environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams, etc.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Candidates offering an advanced degree a major plus

 

Physical Requirements

  • General office environment with intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse
  • This position requires the incumbent to grasp objects utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger coordination
  • This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged sitting
