The Employee Relations Associate will act as the leave liaison working with employees at all levels, their managers and HR Business partners in the coordination, support and assistance of the leave of absence process from an employee’s initial request through their return to work, ensuring coordination between and compliance with the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws/programs, and the Company’s short-term and long-term disability plans. Additionally, the role supports the immigration function within the Human Resources department and is responsible for advising employees, processing applications and paperwork, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Ideally has immigration experience but willing to train.

Essential Key Responsibilities
- Administers leave of absence (LOA) and accommodation requests for employees across multiple states, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as Company policies and procedures
- Oversees and works with leave of absence third party administrator. Reviews benefit and policy coverages.
- Tracks employee LOAs and maintains necessary documentation.
- Ensures that the LOA and ADA policies are being applied consistently and properly by managers by providing proactive training and guidance in conjunction with HR leadership.
- Identifies and advises management of trends and problems, as well as recommended course of action; informs management of new procedures and ideas for continuous process improvement.
- Work cross functionally with multiple departments in regard to Employee Relations, Benefits, Worker's Compensation and Payroll to ensure Company requirements are met.
- Act as subject matter expert for global mobility topics in partnership with outside immigration counsel. Oversee immigration counsel work and provide day to day contact support.
- Ensure timely fillings of all immigration processes at all stages.
- Ensure immigration data is accurately maintained.
- Handle day-to-day communications among candidates, employees, managers, internal stakeholders, external counsel, and/or vendors, for immigration matters.
- Partner with team members to define the overall program’s priorities and strategic roadmap bi-annually; will help to create strategy plans and proposals in partnership with other internal teams and create the overall roadmap.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience

- Utilizes excellent problem-solving skills and a data driven approach to identify problems. Can make business case, and influence/obtain buy-in from clients and stakeholders
- Experience transforming programs/processes with clear measures of success/impact
- High attention to detail with strong problem solving and project/program management skills
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain highly confidential employee files and ensure HIPPA compliance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, speak and operate telephone and/or computer for long periods of time
- Ability to handle pressure, stressful conditions, and conflict resolution
- Ability to work day, evening and/or weekend hours as needed
- Ability to travel by any form of transportation (if yes, please specify estimated percent below)
