POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Shopify Front-End Web Developer is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who lives inside Shopify and understands how marketing teams actually use websites. The majority of time in this role is spent working directly in Shopify themes, Liquid, sections, templates, apps, and front-end optimizations across multiple brand sites.

This role blends front-end development with day-to-day website management and marketing support. You will work closely with the Web Marketing Manager, brand managers, and creative teams to keep sites current, fast, visually strong, and aligned with campaign and merchandising needs.

Candidates whose background is primarily enterprise application development, SPAs, backend systems, or complex APIs are unlikely to be a fit. This role is designed for Shopify-first developers who enjoy practical execution, frequent updates, and supporting marketing-driven websites.

This role is not a general software engineering or full-stack development position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Website Development & Management

Build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes across multiple private-brand websites, with daily hands-on work in Liquid, sections, templates, and theme settings
Execute front-end work inside Shopify using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid, ensuring themes remain clean, maintainable, and optimized for marketing use
Implement frequent site updates including content changes, navigation updates, collections, product pages, and campaign landing pages without disrupting site performance or usability
Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and performant across devices and browsers, with strong attention to page speed and real-world user experience
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Shopify-specific issues such as theme bugs, app conflicts, performance slowdowns, and technical friction affecting marketing teams

Design & Asset Implementation

Implement creative assets provided by the creative team, including banners, imagery, landing-page components, and promotional content, using existing Shopify themes and components
Translate approved designs into clean, functional front-end experiences without redesigning layouts or altering established visual systems
Make minor, practical design adjustments as needed to support responsiveness, usability, and content fit, without acting as the primary designer
Collaborate closely with creative and brand teams to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently inside Shopify
Maintain brand standards and visual consistency across all private-brand websites by following established design systems and guidelines

Marketing Optimization & Reporting

Support digital marketing initiatives by implementing website updates for promotions, campaigns, email integrations, and landing pages as directed by the marketing team
Implement and maintain on-page SEO elements such as metadata, page structure, and content hierarchy based on established marketing and SEO guidance
Assist with conversion-rate optimization efforts by supporting testing, page improvements, and performance enhancements within Shopify themes
Implement and maintain GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Shopify analytics configurations in collaboration with marketing and analytics partners
Monitor site performance and analytics, flagging issues, anomalies, or opportunities and providing data support to the Web Marketing Manag
