None/Not RequiredThe Computing Solutions Department is looking for a talented Graphics Engineer to join the exciting development of a next-generation graphics & processing solution in Cedar Rapids, IA. We are focused on applying this solution across a wide variety of Avionics products in safety-critical commercial and military applications. Our team is responsible for the development, certification and sustainment of these data and graphics processing solutions.
An understanding of OpenGL, Vulkan, FACE and ARINC 661 is highly required for this position. We are also looking for an engineer that finds passion in their line of work and who integrates well in a team environment.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the engineering project leader for programs developing Avionics products, including coordination of hardware, software, and firmware scope to meet program commitments.
- Ensure consistency with Collins Aerospace technical consistent engineering processes.
- Ensure compliance with program and product requirements as reflected in design plans.
- Lead wide range of entry-levels to highly experienced engineers.
- Demonstrate technical ability in processing platforms and the associated technologies.
- Maintain awareness of key technologies and the company's competitive position.
- 5-10% travel as needed.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
- 3D Graphics Certification Experience.
- Leadership experience in developing ruggedized products.
- Experience with Avionics regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, DO-297, or APR4754A.
