Under the supervision of the Sewer Service Foreman, you will operate and maintain a TV truck and all related equipment including camera and its remote controls, float board, tractor, winch, and gas detectors.
The Truck Driver will operate heavy trucks, such as dump truck, concrete mixer, and/or large box or cargo vans in accordance with established City and departmental safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. This position will work from 3:00pm – 11:30pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive heavy trucks and transport crews, materials, and equipment.
• Operate equipment at job sites such as a compressor, generator, snowplow, pumps, etc.
• Work as a team member of the vehicle crew as assigned or required.
• Inspect the mechanical conditions of vehicles and report malfunctions; make minor repairs, check oil, water, gas, and tires.
• Maintain accurate records on equipment.
• Transport crews and/or materials as required.
• May schedule periodic maintenance on vehicles.
• May be required to direct traffic at work sites and operate specialized equipment, including construction equipment.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Considerable knowledge and skill in the operation of heavy trucks and related special motorized equipment, knowledge of safety rules and regulations, and safety hazards and precautions necessary to operate the equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of traffic and other regulations governing vehicle operation.
• Ability to drive in heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, city streets and geography.
• Some knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Some knowledge of city streets and geography.
• Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, and the public.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
• Applicant must present a current, valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the “L” airbrake restriction lifted from the license.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must present a current, valid Class A (Class 1) PA Motor Vehicle Operator’s License at the time of application or prior to appointment. A valid driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED / RECEIVED
No direct reports / Will receive supervision directly from the Manager, Field Operations.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on even and uneven surfaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a loud or moderate noise level within the work environment. May perform work outdoors under extreme weather. The employee may be exposed to confined, high spaces, like erect scaffolding; loud conditions with vibrations, traffic, mechanical, chemical, fire, and explosive risks; and odors, dusts, fumes, mists, poor ventilation, and gases which may require a respirator.
Availability to work a 3:00pm – 11:30pm shift, as well as holidays. Subject to remain on duty beyond normal hours and/or recalled during emergency situations or other extensive periods.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Employment may be contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) physical examination performed by Pittsburgh Water’s examining physician.
DRUG TESTING
Employment may be contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) drug screening. Continued employment may be subject to randomized drug and alcohol testing conducted without advance notice and for reasonable suspicion.
