Position Title:    Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description:

Responsible for network and security infrastructure operations within the organization. Verify stability and security of systems architecture to design and develop solutions to complex network problems. Use demonstrated operations and delivery capabilities working with cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization. Assimilate disparate technical concepts quickly, manage multiple competing priorities and communicate effectively within the team as well as with related technology teams. Provide Tier 2/3 network security support in a global, large scale, multi-protocol, and multi-vendor infrastructure. Troubleshoot and identify root cause for network security and availability problems, including working with equipment vendors, Wellington application teams, cloud, and telecom providers. Plan and execute network security change controls with proper anticipation of risk, outage, and impact. Establish and enforce best practices, including configurations, monitoring, alerting, patch management, and security. Ensure adherence to established IT standards and processes while proactively highlighting opportunities for improvement.

Position is fixed location based in Boston office, however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications-System Management, Information Systems Security, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of network security experience. 

Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• TCP and IP stack and application protocols, including DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, NTP, and FTP
• Networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, OSPF, VRF, NAT, Clustering, High Availability, Load Balancing, and QoS
• Global enterprise LAN and WAN technologies including SD-WAN
• Network security concepts, including VPN and NAC
• Enterprise wireless concepts

Will also accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications-System Management, Information Systems Security, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of network security experience in lieu of a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, $148,000-155,000/year.
