Our combined share of the Irish automotive market is 25%. </p><p><strong>Job description</strong></p> <p><strong>Main Objectives and responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>To service repair vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines.</li> <li>To make written and verbal reports on service and repair activity to the workshop controller.</li> <li>To complete administrative procedures (including warranty) relating to service and repair work.</li> <li>To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.</li> <li>To undertake vehicle road tests.</li> <li>To attend dealership and manufacturers’ training programmes.</li> <li>To assist with the development and training of other staff.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Specific tasks</strong></p> <ul> <li>To carry out service and repair work in accordance with manufacturer and dealership quality standards.</li> <li>To achieve laid down efficiencies and productivity targets.</li> <li>To strictly observe the documentation requirements and administrative/reporting procedures.</li> <li>To strictly observe dealership Health and Safety regulations.</li> <li>To contribute to good team spirit and the achievement of departmental objectives.</li> <li>To take care of dealership equipment and tools.</li> <li>To ensure that the personal tool kit is maintained at an appropriate level.</li> <li>To read and understand manufacturer and dealership technical bulletins.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Ideal Candidate</strong></p> <p><strong>Career experience/career track</strong></p> <ul> <li>Should be currently working as a technician within a franchise dealership.</li> <li>Should be used to working in an environment where quality, efficiency and productivity are important.</li> <li>Consistent employment record.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Technical competence:</li> <li>Specific knowledge</li> <li>Quality</li> <li>Efficiency.</li> <li>Work pace/good attitude/discipline/safety.</li> <li>Communication/awareness of the need to communicate.</li> <li>Teamwork</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <ul> <li>Time served in a Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship or Modern Apprenticeship.</li> <li>Technical qualification</li> <li>Basic level Maths and English (written).</li> <li>Associate Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (SIMI).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Development potential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Should aspire to maintain professional standards and required knowledge of vehicle technology and repair/service techniques.</li> </ul> <p><strong>SALARY PAID WILL BE DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE - THIS WILL BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW</strong></p> <p>Job Types: Full-time, Permanent</p> <p>Salary – Excellent salary for the right candidate</p><p><strong><em>Fair Processing Notice</em></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><em>Where your application relates to a role at Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited (‘VGIE’), VGIE will be the data controller in that regard, and your personal data will be processed for the purposes of your job application.
