About the role

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist interested in pursuing exemplary clinical care, research, and/or education with a focus on patients with a broad range of Gastrointestinal conditions.

The Consultative GI Interest Group is a large multi-disciplinary group with a long history of innovation in clinical, education, and procedural arenas that have positively impacted many patients’ lives. The group consists of nearly two dozen clinicians, physician-educators, and academicians with support from excellent nurses and a large multi-disciplinary team. Physician and physician-scientist applicants with a background of excellence and innovation in clinical care and/or education (including education research) are encouraged to apply. In addition, candidates with an academic focus on conducting epidemiological studies, clinical trials, artificial intelligence (AI), or working with large datasets would be highly competitive. The group works in an environment that supports innovation and has a wealth of resources available, enabling us to give our patients the time and quality of care they deserve.

We offer:

  • A dedicated consultative clinic for patients with broad Gastrointestinal disorders with full-time nursing support
  • An opportunity to provide inpatient care on a dedicated consult service supported by fellows, and a separate dedicated emergency endoscopy and emergency ERCP service, which limits the chance of night-time calls
  • An opportunity to be involved in the education of top-notch residents and fellows from across the world.
  • Top-notch fellowships in Gastroenterology and Advanced Fellowships in Motility, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation, Therapeutic Endoscopy, Esophageal Diseases, IBD, Pancreatology, and GI Neoplasia
  • State-of-the-art Endoscopy Units and access to cutting-edge advanced and interventional endoscopy procedures
  • Dedicated upper and lower gastrointestinal motility tests and an in-house pelvic floor rehabilitation program
  • Academic tertiary and quaternary care integrated with specialists from all sub-specialty GI areas, Advanced Endoscopy, General and subspecialty Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Pathology, and other disciplines
  • Facilities and support for clinical and laboratory-based research
  • Appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with an Academic Rank commensurate with experience
  • A highly collaborative, team-based practice that has been ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report since 1990
  • Highly competitive salary and benefits

Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible in Gastroenterology and be eligible for a Minnesota medical license.
