The Surveillance and Targeting Business Unit within the Intelligence Systems Division of the Northrop Grumman Space Sector has an opening for a Business Development Operations Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Business Development/Capture team. The position is located on the Linthicum, MD campus.

Primary Mission

To drive consistent, high‑quality growth for the organization by owning and optimizing the Business Acquisition Process (BAP). The Business Development Operations Lead will foster collaboration across engineering, pricing, program, and senior leadership, continuously improve capture processes, and uphold a culture of inclusion and diversity while thriving in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Pipeline

  • Ensure the development, integration and delivery of business unit level operations data, information and products supporting Business Unit and Division reporting requirements, including the integration of dashboards, metrics, and Salesforce pipeline and customer engagement data.
  • Facilitate pipeline reviews with Business Unit and Division leadership, including the preparation of read-ahead materials and delivering insights from pipeline and customer engagement data.
  • Support the scheduling and execution of BAP Gate Reviews.
  • Key Deliverables: oversee pipeline data fidelity; produce analysis assessing pipeline health; prepare recommendations for leadership priorities and actions; creation and distribution of readahead materials for pipeline reviews.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Serve as the Business Unit focal point for tradeshow process and continuous process improvement.  Take lessons learned both at the show level, but also specific to leadership to tailor the experience for the attendees to enable the most effective engagements.
  • Support identification of best practices from trade shows to improve overall process.
  • Support meeting and event management, to include trade shows and conferences, as needed.
  • Develop best practices on CRM, including close collaboration with the Customer Engagement team, driving CRM data fidelity and delivering insights and perspectives to leadership with Salesforce and related tools.
  • Key Deliverables: ensure CRM data fidelity; develop and iterate a tradeshow process; develop CRM metrics and insights to drive continued improvement on customer engagements.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and projects initiated by Surveillance and Targeting Business Unit leadership by working with cross-functional teams and business leaders throughout the organization.
  • Prepare leadership for meetings and events with agenda review, data collection, talking points, presentation materials, and logistical support.
  • Manage the reporting of business development goals and activities.
  • Support development of executive-level presentations.
  • Perform other Operations & Integration duties at the request of the Director of Surveillance and Targeting Business Unit Business Development.
  • Key Deliverables: action ad hoc leadership requests and meet deadlines.

Basic Qualification :

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related professional/military experience as defined below; or a master’s degree and 6 years of related experience as defined below
  • Experience in aerospace and defense industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Experience with data analy
