We are committed to assisting schools in the recruitment of high-quality educators on a permanent or substitute basis. One of our partner charter schools located in Springfield, MA, is immediately seeking temp-to-hire Substitutes for the remainder of the 22/23 school year.
- 11th - 12th Grade English
- 10th Grade ELA
COMPENSATION:
Substitute Educators are paid by the day, not by the hour. Pay rates depend on experience and certifications.
- Long-term Substitute Teacher Pay - $250 Daily
These are long-term substitute positions with full-time work hours that may convert to permanent teacher positions. The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
The teacher will serve as the classroom's primary teacher, collaborating with grade-level teams to facilitate lesson plans until the end of school year. The teacher will participate in continuous assessment of students including ongoing targeted feedback and end-of-unit exhibitions. The teacher will implement services that support the school’s mission and instructional objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Further develops and refines a high-level, challenging curriculum in the subject area
- Facilitates and mediates positive and restorative resolution of problems that might arise with students and/or parents
- Assesses student performance continuously and objectively
- Participates in all professional development activities
- Demonstrates awareness of school/community needs and initiates activities to meet those identified needs
- May perform other projects and duties as directed by the principal
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's in English/Education from an accredited college or university REQUIRED
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process and expertise in the specific content area
- Classroom teaching experience ( at least 2 years)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school community staff
