Job Description
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Performs environmental monitoring and compressed gas collection of controlled environments
- Performs collection of water and clean steam samples from manufacturing systems
- May perform bioburden and endotoxin testing of products and raw materials.
- May perform microbiological testing of in-process and final product materials.
- May perform microbial identification procedures.
- May perform biological and endotoxin indicator testing used in the validation of manufacturing equipment.
- Performs all duties relevant to the Quality Control Microbiology Analyst position as required.
- Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory.
- Updates microbiological environmental monitoring results database and prepares monthly report.
- Performs laboratory investigation reports.
- Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Supports and monitors team of analysts
- May participate in new hire interviews
- Supports the on-boarding process of new employees
- Participates in training of other employees.
- Performs peer review of data.
- Assists in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a lab setting.
- Microbiology Laboratory experience
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Experience with LIMS

Position is full-time Sunday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY are encouraged to apply.
