Global Ethics and Compliance, part of Raytheon’s Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization, is excited to announce that we are recruiting an Assistant General Counsel, Anticorruption, reporting to the Senior Director and Associate General Counsel of Global Compliance Programs.  If you are ready to apply your legal acumen, leadership, and anticorruption experience to a challenging and rewarding compliance area, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

The Assistant General Counsel will join a team of global compliance professionals who design, manage, and implement a world-class anticorruption program. The Assistant General Counsel will collaborate within Global Ethics and Compliance and with business leadership to assist in implementing a program designed to proactively prevent and detect violations of anticorruption and anti-bribery law and policy.

The position involves interaction with all levels of the organization and ongoing communication to anticorruption control owners and related stakeholders on the function and purpose of internal corruption controls.

What you will do

  • Provide review and analysis for Raytheon’s antibribery and anticorruption compliance program using leading practices, tools, and processes for the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related international anticorruption law

  • Provide resources and guidance to Raytheon employees on anticorruption related laws, policies, and internal controls

  • Provide review, analysis, and approval of Raytheon’s international third-party relationships, including collecting and reviewing due diligence materials and creating contractual agreements for international suppliers, sales intermediaries, customers, distributors, offset partners, acquisition targets, and other third parties

  • Review and analyze requests for business courtesies involving U.S. and foreign government officials and other customers

  • Maintain and provide up-to-date and comprehensive anticorruption training for internal and external stakeholders

  • Identify and raise antibribery and anticorruption issues within Global Ethics and Compliance to facilitate appropriate legal review and counsel to business partners and internal stakeholders on antibribery and anticorruption issues

  • Work positively and collaborate with Global Ethics and Compliance and Corporate/other business unit colleagues in areas including anticorruption monitoring, surveillance, and investigation

  • Provide sound judgment and effectively prioritize competing projects and interests

  • Be an ethics and compliance advocate within the enterprise and to external stakeholders

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires 12 years prior relevant experience in a legal or compliance environment with a global company or an AM Law 100 law firm or U.S. Government Agency

  • A Juris Doctorate is required

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62"

  • Currently admitted and in good standing with at least one U.S. State bar

  • Experience in international or anticorruption law, or performing internal or external corporate investigations

  • Experience in project and/or case management
