Staff-Level Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Engineer

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking a Staff-Level Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Engineer to support our environmental/hydrogeologic investigation and remediation, and groundwater exploration practices in Bedford, NH.  A strong academic record, including quantitative hydrogeologic and engineering skills are essential for this position.

As a Staff-Level Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Engineer, you will work on a dedicated team of professional Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals. Our solutions focused collaborative culture will allow you to work on many challenging projects and help you to grow professionally.  You will be mentored by seasoned professionals, who will in turn look to you to share technical knowledge and ideas.  Our success relies on a collaborative environment, which includes participation on projects and within technical practice groups throughout GZA’s many offices.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Execution of projects under the supervision of project managers and principals,
• Summary and assessment of environmental data,
• Conducting analyses/calculations,
• Developing numerical models and simulation of groundwater flow and contaminant transport and fate,
• Performance of field investigation and remediation tasks,
• Preparation of reports, recommendations, plans, proposals, and schedules,
• Field and office assessment and management of QA/QC programs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Groundwater Engineering, or similar technical discipline required (Master’s Degree preferred),
• 0-5 years of related environmental experience,
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities,
• Ability to follow directions, and work independently or in a team setting,
• Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills,
• Working knowledge of common numerical modeling software such as, GMS, Visual Modflow, GW Vistas, EVS, etc.,
• Database, CAD or ArcGIS a plus,
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and professional registration/licensure a plus,
• Availability to work Monday through Friday and occasional evenings and weekends as necessary to meet project demands,
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
