Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department located in the state-of-the-art hospital. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments and disorders, working in conjunction with a Physical Therapist.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM—4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Implement patient treatment following evaluations by a Physical Therapist with a thorough understanding of the procedures and goals.
Discuss possible changes in the treatment approach with the supervising therapist and assists in the preparation of a new program.
Assume responsibility for the care, safety and well-being of patients during assigned acts and observe all necessary precautions and procedures in the use of equipment to prevent the delay of the healing process or to avoid injuring patients.
Provide appropriate documentation of each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
Maintain and care for all equipment and apparatus.
Maintain order and cleanliness of the department and ensure economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.
Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
Assist in the on-the-job training of ancillary personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assisting
Possess license as Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Internship experience
