Job Details:

Purpose

Provide programmatic and administrative support and leadership for the UT Public Health Coalition (PHC) and the Texas Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health Research (TISGMHR)

This position is a 2-year fixed-term appointment. 

Responsibilities

  • Daily operations: manage operations, including purchasing and procurement of supplies, collecting relevant information for purchase orders/business contracts (collecting PIFs, setting up vendor IDs, completing EICCC), assist steering committees with purchases and travel. Financial Management: maintain budgets and track expenditures for each program budget. Oversee financial management of all program activities. Coordinate and schedule committee meetings. Attend all committee meetings, take meeting notes, and disseminate minutes.

  • Research and community impact coordination and planning: Coordinate seminars (inviting speakers, communicating goals and preparing presentation materials, recording and sharing seminars) and in-person gatherings of research and community impact scholars.

  • Communications: Liaison with steering committee to update program communications (website, social media); coordinate meetings across university units and university leadership.

  • In collaboration with CNS and Dell Med Development, UT Foundation Relations, and Institute Directors, monitor and identify potential funding opportunities and support philanthropic activities

  • PHC Teaching coordination and planning: assist steering committee and teaching subcommittee in curriculum planning and development. Assist implementation of a new core curriculum across multiple colleges. Assist curriculum plans (including redesign implementation).

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of responsible level experience in program management and coordination of programs, or master’s degree and two years of above experience. Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage concurrent projects, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to meet overlapping deadlines. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. General financial and budgeting knowledge. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to perform work independently. Experience supporting faculty and staff. Proficiency using computers, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, database programs, electronic calendar and email systems and standard office equipment. Experience working in an academic environment. Supervisory experience. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health. The ideal candidate should be innovative, skilled at anticipating shifting trends, a self-starter, highly collaborative, able to work well under changing environments, respond well to feedback, and work well as part of a team. Skilled with interacting with a variety of constituents/customers. Experience with *DEFINE, course scheduling, and Workday. Working knowledge of university policies and procedures and an understanding of university organizational, cultural and academic structure as well as knowledge of resources.

Salary Range

$45,000+ depending on qualifications
