We now have an exciting opportunity for a GMA Team Leader who will have the chance to independently support the operations and enhancements of our certification body and support the development of new capabilities and service paths. You will play an important role in developing, managing, and tracking plans that will enable the delivery of testing, certification and inspection services at UL Solutions. This role sits within our Global Market Access (GMA) Certification Office, located in Ballerup-Copenhagen, Denmark.
The new GMA Team Leader will effectively manage the day-to-day activities of a team of highly skilled product certification specialists, supporting and guiding certification decisions, manage process improvement initiatives, and managing various opportunities within a highly matrixed organization. You will assist the Regional GMA Manager in defining goals and performance objectives and metrics to execute strategies, with a focus on goals and metrics. You will maintain the responsibilities of Certification Office staff and work on project improvement initiatives, monitor resource availability and evaluates possible alternative solutions by delegating work to appropriate levels for completion. You will drive a highly performing team by managing the performance, development and engagement of team members. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Certification Body operates within the scopes of the accreditation and supports business objectives. This role is responsible for building relationships with internal/external customers and stakeholders and supporting the commercial teams by ensuring both compliant and highly efficient processes to satisfy customers and adhere to UL Mission.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees activities for the Certification Body at UL Solutions (Demko) and certification body staff.
- Ensures impartial interpretation and the implementation and compliance of core accreditation rules acc. ISO 17065 etc.
- Leads the management of the compliance under DANAK and other applicable accreditations within the scope based on Customer Operating Units (COU) needs and other operational KPIs.
- Implements and executes capacity and capability management under minimal guidance of the Manager. Ensures effective workflows by engaging with cross functional leads and customers to understand scope of projects and technical needs to assign resources effectively.
- Responsible for driving process improvements to ensure results are achieved.
- Drives a high performing team by managing the performance and development of team members. Operates effectively in the UL matrix to actively support and drive high performance culture changes, transformation efforts and people engagement. Holds team and self-accountable for results, assists Regional GMA Manager in defining goals and performance objectives and metrics to execute business strategy. Develops and coaches by providing training, career counseling, feedback, guidance to drive high performance and morale. Ensures understanding of and compliance with all established policies and requirements.

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the testing, inspection and certification field in a TIC provider or in the industry.
- Demonstrated experience in building and achieving new certification office accreditations/notifications and/or managing highly performing certification teams.
- Deep understanding of product certification scheme operations, requirements, and ability to connect those to business needs and customer preferences.
