This is what you will do:
Alexion is a matrix organization focused on serving patients with rare diseases. As part of the Global Training Alliance, you will lead organizational excellence in learning and development. The main responsibilities of this role include delivering foundational commercial training in English and Spanish to attendees within the Rare Disease Business Unit in a remote setting. Lead by the Global Specialist Training Lead, you will ensure content is approved, aligned with strategy, and continually evolved to be of the highest quality.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Deliver virtual Foundation training courses in English and Spanish in an (ideal) four-week cadence for disease states in scope, aligned to multiple time zones.
- Ensure all materials are approved and aligned with the global strategy defined by the Global Specialist Training Lead and relevant Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate and lead all courses within scope, sending invitations, coordinating guest speakers and slides, and ensuring approval, follow-up etc.
- Defined by the Global Specialist Training Lead and where availability allows, you may be asked to support the preparation and approval of material/content and the delivery of sessions for the Beyond training series (Follow Up or ongoing training), competitor sessions and others
- Support Train The Trainers sessions
- Execute surveys for participants and participant managers for all training courses, prepare monthly analysis to review with your Global Specialist Training Lead.
- Continually update training records for monthly reporting through Workplace and compliance access to training records.
- Ensure accurate annual training planning through coordination and review of launch data to ensure country needs are met for disease states in scope.
- Complete quarterly field visits and seek feedback from other markets in ‘Beyond Training’ to include field experience and enhance credibility in training courses.
- Proactively seeks ways to include external developments and innovations in training, and education so that the commercial training activities remain current and relevant.
- Maintain impeccable administration, including the latest content in Global Country Training Champions SharePoint, future courses accurately displayed in SharePoint, course registration section up to date, automated calendar invitations to courses and pre learning content, etc.
- Remain clear on roles and responsibilities to create and deliver content, report challenges to timelines to your Global Specialist Training Lead, whilst maintaining a helpful attitude to cross-functional colleagues and helping where appropriate (even beyond role scope occasionally) to ‘get the job done.’
- Support Training Champions excellence through collaboration and training interventions.
- Ensures activities are within budget.
In addition:
- Collaborate with Global Medical Scientific Communications, Global Medical Training, Global marketing teams and the Global Competitive Response teams, the Global Training Alliance, country Training Leads and all cross functional teams to align training to appropriate skills and capabilities.
- Support creation and execution of cross-functional onboarding plans.
- You may lead or manage other training related projects for example, maintaining the SharePoint site, recording Podcasts and avatars of content, contributing to timelines and planning for launch products.
- Drive a Learning and Development culture across the organization.
You will need to have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Scientific, Business, or Finance-related field.
- Minimum of 3 years commercial experience in pharmaceuticals ideally in sales role.
- > 1 year's involvement in creating and delivering content, ideally remotely, e.g., explaining strategy, clinical data etc.
- Demonstrable interest in adult learning delivery and leadership in pharmaceuticals.
- Proficiency in Office 365, Excel, PPT, VEEVA Promomats, Teams, Smartsheet, Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, Planner, and Tasks.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening in English and Spanish.
- Ability to deliver training in English and Spanish.
