Job Description
Summary:
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, invites you to join a dynamic team advancing the Navy’s synthetic training architecture through innovative simulation software development. As a JSAF Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and sustaining the backbone of distributed Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training within the Navy’s Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
In this role, you’ll design, enhance, and maintain high-fidelity simulation capabilities that empower warfighters to train in realistic, scalable environments—boosting readiness across multi-domain operations. Your work will directly support mission rehearsal, tactical decision-making, and joint force coordination.
Essential Job Responsibilities
What you will do:
• Design and develop software in Java, JavaScript, and C/C++ on Red Hat Linux (7/8/9) systems
• Build responsive interfaces using Sencha ExtJS and Vue.JS
• Automate system tasks via bash scripting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SMEs and fellow developers
• Support documentation and technical reporting efforts
• Contribute to proposals and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
What you must have:
• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Java and multithreaded application development
• Familiarity with IntelliJ, VSCode, or Eclipse IDEs
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles
• Experience with Git, JUnit, and Agile development
• Linux/Unix development environment familiarity
• Exposure to HLA or DIS simulation protocols
• Comfortable debugging with Java, JavaScript, and C/C++ tools
• Familiarity with Apache ActiveMQ, Gradle, Make, CSS/HTML
• Willingness to obtain Security+ and OS certification.
• U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Requirements:
• Knowledge of Jenkins, SonarQube, or secure coding via DISA STIGs
• Experience with C4I systems and user-based permission models
• Database and shell scripting experience
