The Systems Engineering department of the Sentinel Program is looking to add a Principal (T03) / Sr Principal Systems (T04) Engineer for support of the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment, in Roy, Utah. The selected engineer will be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements and verification for the (AVE) Segment. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks dealing with requirements definition / allocation, interface definition, compliance tracking, verification planning, verification execution, and requirements traceability.

This position's duties include:

  • Requirement development, decomposition, and refinement based on knowledge of the functional architecture and performance budgets
  • Ensure requirements decomposition and traceability
  • Documentation of requirements verification planning. Verification planning will transition into verification execution which includes development and review of verification artifacts, requirement verification report generation, and management of the approval process
  • Support TMRR execution including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Milestone B re-certification
  • Support to incremental CDR execution eventually culminating in an AVE CDR
  • Support to flight design reviews (FDR)
  • Support the development of lower level requirements, verification plans, and PDR/CDR/FDR execution
  • Work in a collaborative environment, across all system functions. Work with teammates across a wide variety of disciplines and get intimately familiar with all aspects of the Missile

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).

For: T03 (Principal): Bachelors in Science in a STEM field and 5 years of systems engineering experience, 3 years with a Masters, 1 year with a PhD.

For: T04 (Sr. Principal): Bachelors in Science in a STEM field and 8 years of systems engineering experience, 6 years with a Masters, 4 year with a PhD.

Required for both levels:

  • Regardless of degree level, 2 years of Systems Engineering experience required
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Systems engineering experience
  • Experience modeling with requirements management tools such as DOORS
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs
  • Experience with flight hardware
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
