Our team is working on Copilot for Microsoft Purview is a dynamic mix of data scientists, software engineers, and user experience designers. We are hiring a Software Engineer II to join the Copilot for Microsoft Purview team. We are looking for passionate people with experiences working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services, ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and good maintainability.  Candidate will need to collaborate closely with user experience dev and data scientists to deliver powerful and reliable Copilot experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for features. 
  • Implements features with efficient code that meets existing coding standards and uses established patterns, with emphasis on reusing code where it makes sense.
  • Embraces a systematic approach to analysis and data-driven learning through experimentation. Identifies dependencies, creates, and drives sign-off of design document for a feature, with oversight.
  • Learns to break work down into smaller tasks and provide high-confidence time estimates.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Alerts stakeholders as to the status and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
