Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance to establish and oversee data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, compliance, and consistency across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, and data analysis, coupled with a solid understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Strategy

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s data governance framework, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models.
• Establish and monitor data quality metrics, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across systems.
• Manage the data catalog, metadata, and lineage documentation to ensure transparency and accessibility.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).

Data Management & Analysis

• Use SQL and Python to perform complex data profiling, validation, and quality assessments.
• Identify data quality issues and drive remediation through root cause analysis and process improvement.
• Partner with data engineers and analysts to ensure consistent data definitions, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Develop dashboards and reports to track data governance KPIs and communicate progress to leadership.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison between business units, IT, and data teams to align governance initiatives with organizational goals.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven and governance-first culture.
• Provide guidance to data stewards and business owners on governance best practices and standards.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s  in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data analytics roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting.
• Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality tools, and data catalog solutions.
• Proven ability to develop and enforce governance policies and data standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with data management platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Talend, Azure Purview, etc.) is a plus.
