DockMaster is looking to hire a talented and experienced Product Engineering Manager to join our growing team in the US!

As the Product Engineering Manager for DockMaster, your role encompasses a pivotal leadership position where you will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from strategic concept to engineering execution and market introduction. This role uniquely combines architectural expertise with product oversight to ensure our software solutions are not only innovative but architecturally sound, aligning seamlessly with both market needs and technical capabilities. You will act as both an architect and a leader, bridging the gap between high-level architectural decisions and detailed engineering practices, thereby driving the product to commercial success. 

DockMaster is a financial management platform for marine and marina businesses worldwide. Customers utilize DockMaster to manage their service jobs, inventories, sales, storage agreements and customer engagement. Our business is celebrating 40 years in the marina management space, and we have a trusted enterprise solution as well as a modern web-based CRM.

What your day will look like:

  • Architect and define the product framework and technical roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business strategies and meets complex customer demands
  • Lead a team of eight engineers, guiding them in building scalable and robust software solutions while adhering to best architectural practices
  • Collaborate with product managers to translate product vision into actionable architectural plans that enhance functionality and performance
  • Implement and oversee a rigorous development process, integrating agile methodologies with a focus on architectural integrity to adapt quickly to market changes
  • Manage the technical execution of product development and quality assurance, ensuring alignment with the architectural vision and business objectives
  • Utilize performance metrics and user feedback to make informed architectural adjustments that enhance product viability and market fit
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and development of engineering talent, emphasizing architectural acumen and innovative thinking

About You:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a role that combines Product Management with Architectural responsibilities in a SaaS environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic architectural decisions that align with business goals and enhance product performance
  • Experience with software development for the Automotive, Marine, or Marina management space is highly desirable
  • Experience leading QA processes is essential
  • Leadership skills characterized by the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams towards architectural cohesion and product excellence
  • Profound technical expertise with a strong foundation in software architecture principles
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, capable of leading architectural discussions and making decisions that impact product strategy and execution 
  • Passion for building technically excellent products that push the boundaries of innovation in user experience and functionality
  • Advanced experience in high-level architectural design and its practical implementation in competitive markets
  • Proven capability to navigate complex architectural challenges and drive the integration of cutting-edge technologies into user-centric products
  • Knowledge of the Marine, Marina or automotive parts and service management space
  • Fluent in English is essential
