Description
The University Hospitals Pharmacy Technician Training Program is now open for applications!!
Our accelerated training program will provide you with all of the classroom and hands-on skill building required to become a state registered and nationally certified Pharmacy Technician here at University Hospital in as little as 16 weeks.
This program begins on June 29th, 2026.
Pharmacy Technician Trainees are:
Responsible for logistically organizing, collaborating and /or delivering required discharge medications to patients and/or families or caregivers. The Trainee will ensure the successful hand off to the appropriate medications to enable the improvement of the patient's health management & experience. The Trainee will interact primarily with pharmacists, patients, other members of the patient care team & representatives of outside organizations (pharmacies, long term care facilities, etc.).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent required
- Strong aptitude in Math
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Must be able to obtain a Trainee License from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (BCI and FBI fingerprinting will be conducted)
- Must be able to successfully pass employer-driven curriculum and national certification within 180 days of hire
- Must have reliable transportation to complete clinical rotations at various UH facilities in North East Ohio. Rotations will be grouped within our Central, Western(as far as Elyria), Eastern(as far as Geauga County) and Southern(as far as Portage County) markets.
