About the role

Must possess ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from vendors, regulatory agencies or other team members. Storeroom/Receiving Attendant provides excellent customer service to employees and vendors in all situations. 

  • Operate a motor vehicle to assist in the pickup, delivery, and transferring of goods to/from the warehouses. 

  • Count, sort, and weigh incoming goods to verify receipt of items against shipping notice. 

  • Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications. 

  • Input stock items into computer and store in the assigned location in or around the warehouse. 

  • Physically counts inventory items to verify accuracy on a regular basis. 

  • Maintains warehouse in a clean and orderly fashion including sweeping floors, mopping coolers, and dusting shelves. 

  • All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and Indiana Gaming Regulations. 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred as well as two to three (2-3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. 

  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening. 

  • Must possess ability to effectively present information to senior management. 

  • Must possess ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule format. 

  • Must possess ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. 

  • Must possess the ability to operate a computerized inventory system. 

  • Must also have 10-key adding machine skills. 

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and good interpersonal skills. 

  • Must be able to operate a light duty forklift, hydraulic hand jack, electric pallet jack, electric pallet stacker, 2-wheel hand truck, and a 14 foot box truck with a valid driver’s license.

  • Be available to work various shifts, weekends and holidays. 

  • Must be at least 21 years old or older and be able to obtain an Indiana Gaming and Indiana Horse Racing Licenses. 

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds unassisted, and 120 pounds assisted. 

  • Also required are frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing steps and sitting. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. 

  • Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino is a smoking establishment, therefore must be able to work in a smoking environment. 

  • Must be able to work in a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment. 

  • Access to general gaming floor.
