PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Managing Director US Tax position is responsible for the consolidated US and Mexico ASC 740 tax provision process and related financial statement disclosures. This position manages and facilitates the accurate filing of various US federal, international, state and local income tax returns, and researches and recommends ways to implement corporate tax savings strategies through analysis of US tax laws and regulations.  The role is also responsible for the US property tax and sales and use tax functions.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Oversees the US and Mexico tax accounting under ASC 740 including uncertain tax positions, and supports SEC tax reporting
  • Maintains SOX documentation and ensure compliance
  • Manages cash taxes and effective tax rate forecasting, including analysis and explanation of variances
  • Responsible for management presentations of cash taxes, effective tax rates, and tax planning strategies
  • Reviews federal, state and local income tax returns, including international tax filings such as foreign tax credits, GILTI and BEAT, estimated and extension tax payments, research, and tax technical memorandums
  • Develops and implements tax savings strategies
  • Responsible for federal and state tax audits
  • Oversees the US property tax function which includes filing of property tax returns, negotiation of values, timely payment of property tax bills, monthly tax accounting and annual budgets
  • Oversees the US sales and use tax function which includes the timely and accurate filing of state, county and local returns, monthly tax accounting and determining sales and use tax implications on purchases
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicates the impacts to the Company
  • Supports process improvement initiatives, and system implementations or enhancements
  • Develops, trains, assesses and mentors tax staff

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job-related major field of study
  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, including strong knowledge of ASC 740, US tax code and regulations, tax compliance and procedures for large multi-national corporations
  • Ability to analyze and apply tax accounting literature and guidance to complex accounting transactions
  • Knowledge of tax accounting principles and experience dealing with and reporting book/tax differences
  • Strong leadership skills successfully managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and external auditors
  • Achieve outstanding results in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
