Senior Logistics Manager – Global Road Transport

 

The Global Transport team provides the centre of expertise for the global Transport network.
It sets the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and provides functional expertise in network design across the global supply community and with the logistics community in the regions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As our Senior Logistics Manager, you are responsible to provide overall governance to the global freight operation ensuring right service, cost, lead time and sustainability objectives, collaborating and influencing your stakeholders and suppliers.
You are requested to simplify, standardize, and improve either work processes, tools and overall transportation network to deliver added value to the business.

 

Your main focus:
 

  • Define, track, analyse and improve necessary KPIs to build and maintain a best-in-class Global Road Carrier Management function governing the control Tower operations.
  • Be the ultimate escalation level for any Road transport issues, providing solutions, visibility and prompt communication to the stakeholder and ultimately action plan to avoid reoccurrences.
  • Standardize and simplify globally critical workprocesses, tools and KPIs, aligning them with ocean and air operations.
    This includes processes for having structured predictability on service and costs, securing in advance right transport capacity, etc.
  • Work together / influence other departments to lead and support the development of new logistic solutions / projects to deliver exceptional cost, service, lead time and sustainability objectives. 
    Some of them (but not limited to) are : leading suppliers tenders, optimise truck fill rate, implement milk runs, etc.
  • Define, implement, maintain business relations with a set of logistic providers to deliver improved service, costs, and visibility. This includes leading supplier strategy, suppliers’ selection, regular suppliers KPIs reviews.

The Global transport team consists of more than 30 people, continuously expanding, located worldwide in 8 different offices, and made up of more than 10 different nationalities.

You will report to the Global Transport Operations director, and You will be responsible of a team with a manager and an external Control Tower.

You will work closely together with several departments such as finance, warehousing, planning, and customer services.

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

 

You like to work in a team, effectively and proactively act in a complex matrix organization. As a/an experienced Logistics Manager, you have strong analytical and fact-based problem-solving skills and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:

 

  • Educational background in Logistics or similar areas - advanced degree an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant working experience in road freight, and additional experience in supply chain/logistics/transportation processes & current best practices.  (preferable in multinational company, in global forwarding).
  • Result oriented person, who can autonomously set the right priorities.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office: World, Excel, Power Point.
    Power BI will be highly valued.
  • Ability to visualize his/her thoughts in an adequate way (enabling her/him to bring message across to Senior Management audience – Executive reporting)
  • Master the English language on a near native level.
