Summary
The Vice President and Chief Information Officer is a key role in our digital transformation. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer. We seek a leader with a proven track record as an innovative change agent in healthcare, financial service, or any other highly regulated industry. - Aligning with CHS business strategy and objectives
- Forging relationships with stakeholders and listening to the customers of IT services
- Developing a long-term business aligned IT strategy
- Driving systematic implementation of the IT strategy and disciplined operation
The CIO will identify industry trends, regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and opportunities to improve CHS operating outcomes. Responsibilities
- Ensure that current IT organization, process, technology, and services meet the needs of customers.
- Provide vision, a long-term IT strategy, and an implementation plan.
- Socialize the IT strategy and plan with executive management and obtain alignment and agreement.
- Execute the IT strategy and regularly report implementation cadence progress.
Effective Alignment of IT Investment
- Lead the IT planning process, ensuring sound business cases and analysis for key business initiatives and informational needs that support, improve and/or transform business operations, processes and strategy.
- Initiate, lead and support projects and their delivery in accordance with expected project outcomes, time scales and costs in compliance with CHS methodologies.
- Shape IT strategic evolution for the area of responsibility and contribute to the business strategy for area and influence/persuade for its acceptance. Ensure regional IT strategy is aligned with business strategy.
High-Performance and Innovation
- Ensure continuity in IT leadership and succession planning and be available for coaching of staff in both functional and core competencies.
- Orchestrate talent management, enabling CHS to attract, develop, and retain world-class talent.
- Serve as a mentor and role model. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and behavior in dealings with staff, colleagues, customers and outside contacts.
- Collaborate with other business managers to leverage opportunities of job enrichment and development opportunities for staff.
Efficient Operations
- Work closely with business partners in understanding and responding to both long-term and short-term business goals and strategy.
- Develop and deliver support and service in accordance with Service Level Agreements based on business requirements.
- Cooperate and partner with key stakeholders to ensure the IT solution responds to their business needs while being cost-efficient at the same time.
- Collaborate and negotiate with external partners to support system operations / development / integration, ensuring reliability, competence, flexibility, and cost effectiveness.
- Partner with Cybersecurity Risk Management in the adoption of the “Secure by Design” practice to protect CHS digital and information assets.
- Ensure the continuous improvement, rationalization and management of existing systems and operations.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience in business or science (computer science, mathematics, engineering, statistics, etc.) is required.
Fifteen or more years of experience, including five or more years of senior leadership in an intensely complex information environment of a major global services organization. - Healthcare services experience is highly desirable, but other relevant backgrounds will be considered. Exper
