Workday Security & Tenant Analyst
AAAAbout the role
The Workday Security and Tenant Management Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and auditing the security framework within the Workday platform. This role ensures that user access aligns with organizational policies, regulatory requirements (such as SOX, GDPR), and data privacy standards. Additionally, the analyst oversees the health of various Workday tenants, manages configuration migrations, and supports system updates.
Job Duties
Security Configuration & Administration
• Security Framework: Ownership of security design standards - define and maintain WD security standards and access governance models to ensure consistency and scalability
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Create, update, and maintain security groups (User-based, Role-based, Job-based, Intersection, Contextual) to manage user permissions.
• Domain & Business Process Security: Configure domain security policies and business process security policies to manage data access and workflow approvals.
• Integration Security: Administer Integration System Users (ISUs) and maintain security protocols for EIBs, Core Connectors, and Studio integrations.
• Authentication Policies: Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).Tenant Management & System Upgrades
• Release Management: Participate in Workday’s bi-annual feature releases, including analyzing impact, regression testing, and implementing new security features.
• Migration Management: Use Object Transporter (OX) or similar tools to migrate security configurations between implementation, sandbox, and production tenants.
• Tenant Maintenance: Monitor and update scheduled processes, interface certification keys, and ensure data integrity across environments.
• Access Control: Define and enforce access controls across all Workday tenantsAuditing, Compliance & Reporting
• Audit Support: Support internal and external audits (SOX, GDPR, ISO, etc.) by providing evidence of security controls.
• Compliance Monitoring: Perform regular audits of user access, Segregation of Duties (SoD) checks, and security role permissions cleanup.
• Reporting: Create custom reports and dashboards to track security exceptions and user activity.Support & Collaboration
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve security-related issues, often via a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and legal teams to translate business requirements into functional security configurations.
• Training: Provide documentation and training for super-users and security partners.Work is performed with only minimal guidance or supervision. Work requires extensive knowledge in HCM applications, practices, techniques, and methods. Work regularly requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in areas such as:
Configuration of HCM applications.
Development of custom solutions for business partners and key stakeholders.
Development of data-driven solutions to complex HR data issues/problems.
Qualifications
Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience Required
4-6 years Professional experience with a deep focus on architecting security frameworks, leading audits, and managing large-scale system updates. Required
Understands, at an expert level, the technical/functional configuration of enterprise HR systems (High proficiency)
Can demonstrate and articulate advanced system configuration/knowledge – Integrations, Business Process Workflow, Advance Reporting Analytics & Visualization, etc. (Medium proficiency)
Familiar with current trends & best practices across HRIS, LMS, ATS, Time & Attendance, etc. systems. (High proficiency)
Expert understanding of HR data both via relational databases and object-oriented structures. (Low proficiency)
Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions to issues that arise. (High proficiency)
