The Northeast Health District is seeking an experienced and compassionate Public Health Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead nursing operations at the Walton County Health Department (Loganville). This position provides clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality public health services that promote disease prevention, health education, and improved community health outcomes.


The Public Health Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating nursing activities across multiple public health programs, including Immunizations, WIC, Family Planning, Women's Health, Diabetes, Hypertension, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), Tuberculosis (TB), and other preventive health services. This position ensures compliance with Georgia Department of Public Health policies, nurse protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.


The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to mentor and develop staff while fostering a positive, patient-centered work environment. The successful candidate will also be proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare technologies to support quality patient care and operational efficiency. This position may provide nursing coverage at the Walton Health Department location in Monroe as needed.

Examples of duties

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered public health services. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with agency policies and nurse protocols. 
  • Provide direct nursing care as needed, including patient assessments, treatments, immunizations, medication administration, health education, and referrals. 
  • Monitor clinical quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance through quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities. 
  • Support employee orientation, training, competency assessments, and professional development. 
  • Collaborate with providers, program managers, community partners, and district leadership to improve health outcomes and enhance public health services. 
  • Participate in disease prevention initiatives, emergency preparedness activities, and community outreach events. 
  • Utilize electronic health records and other technology systems to ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and patient care coordination. 
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, resource management, and clinic operations to ensure continuity of services.
