What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you’ll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. In this role, you will join a team of scientists focused on optimizing biologics reagents for vaccine programs. Your primary role is to support, assist and deliver reagents for nonclinical and clinical targets within Vaccines. Likewise, you’re expected to have a strong foundation in general scientific practice and the principles and concepts that will support meeting critical deadlines. You will be performing aseptic serological processing, preparation of buffers, and growing bacterial cultures, as necessary. All work is to be done in a compliant manner according to relevant SOP guidelines and GLP and/or GMP guidelines, as required.
How You Will Achieve It
- Perform aseptic serological processing, reagent preparation, and bacterial culture growth to support high throughput clinical and nonclinical testing in Vaccines.
- Complete all work in compliance with SOPs, safety guidelines, and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements.
- Utilize time management, organization, detail orientation, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively perform tasks to support clinical immunology and diagnostics.
- Complete ad hoc tasks to support the successful qualification of reagents, including data organization/review and authoring of qualification documents, as appropriate.
- Maintain detailed inventory of reagents, consumables, and components.
- Author and revise SOPs and reports, as appropriate.
- Apply technical skills to complete assigned work within own work group/project team.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree with 0-2 Years of experience in a laboratory environment. (Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred)
- Flexible and adaptable attitude to accommodate a dynamic work environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to multitask and successfully manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Nice-to-Have
- Working knowledge of aseptic technique
- PBMC isolation and external lab management
- Organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft systems such as Office suite, Outlook, Etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 25lbs.
- Note: This is an onsite laboratory-based role.
