We are looking for a proactive leader with excellent financial acumen and attention to detail who can thrive and support our mission in a fast-paced environment. A strategic partner and trusted advisor passionate about creating customer value and providing senior business leaders with high quality and accurate information to assist them in understanding their financial performance, enable proactive strategic financial management and enable critical business decisions to be made. As a leader in this hands-on position, this role will be innovating creative solutions to tackle complex business challenges.  You will work to increase the speed, accuracy, efficiency, and automation of our finance operations, increase business acumen, financial accountability and establish, standardize, and document financial processes across the Operations Finance team. As a member of the Operations Finance Leadership Team, you will improve the quality and timeliness of insights provided to Operations leadership and drive initiatives to ensure successful execution of our priority goals. We are seeking a storyteller, who can clearly articulate complex concepts and translate numeric financial results into meaningful business-level, programmatic and operational performance insights and recommendations. The individual should possess strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a dynamic growth environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation of a Strategic Finance element within Blue Origin’s Operations Finance team
• Lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work within Operations Finance. This includes facilitation of the Operations Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Quarterly Forecasts. This includes AOP/forecast development, executive-level reviews, and tracking
• Lead regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual cadence) reporting/reviews of AOP-related financial information/insights. Examples include Monthly Financial Reviews for Operations
• Assist CFO, Operations with strategic financial initiatives and analyses for Operations
• Be the Blue Origin’s M&A focal for Operations, along with the CFO, Operations.
• Lead an impactful team of individual contributors; establish clear team and individual objectives, support performance and career development, and team engagement
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, resolving problems, and implementing change
• Oversee financial performance of Operations functions by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
• Serve as trusted advisor to CFO, Operations
• Support Operations Capital Review process
• Standardize Operations Finance Processes and Reporting

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated understanding of financial documents and performance metrics
• Demonstrated experience with strategic work/analyses that goes beyond financials
• Experience in helping senior business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
• Highly skilled collaborator and influencer capable of interacting with multiple functional leaders and team members.
• Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel
• 12+ years of financial and business analytics experience
• Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and growing teams
• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or other highly analytical field.
