EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Currently a candidate for a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in the US.
This spring coop position is within the Opto-Electronic Integration Research Group at Bell Labs where we are pursuing research into complex photonic and electronic integration for future optical communications and novel photonic applications such as neural networks and quantum computation.
As part of our team, you will collaborate with our researchers to push the state of the art in advanced photonic devices and systems by participating in:
- simulation/modeling of thin-film lithium niobate photonic integrated circuits (PICs)
- collaborate with cleanroom researchers to enable the fabrication of new devices
- performing experimental characterization of new PICs
- present research findings through oral presentations within the team
- generate publications for the leading conferences and journals in the field of photonics.
You have:
- Demonstrated hands-on experiences and publications in the area of integrated photonics including silicon, silicon nitride, lithium niobate, and III-V integrated photonics.
- Experience in design and optimization of photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
- Experience in photonic integrated circuit design tools.
- Experience in testing and characterization of optoelectronic devices and systems.
- In-depth understanding of semiconductor physics and devices.
- Problem-solving mind, creative and good communication skills
