The Gig:


Virgin Voyages is in search of a Sr. Manager, Data Privacy, to help lead our data privacy initiatives to ensure compliance with global data protection laws. This critical role involves developing and implementing comprehensive privacy policies, overseeing data processing activities, and ensuring organizational alignment with evolving digital privacy requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, exceptional analytical skills, understanding of applicable data privacy laws and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data protection. This position plays a key role in upholding Virgin Voyages' reputation for trust and security in handling sensitive information of both guests and employees.

What You'll Be Up To:


● Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures in compliance with
global privacy laws and regulations.
● Oversee and ensure the organization's data processing activities are compliant with relevant legal
standards.
● Lead privacy impact assessments and risk management processes related to data privacy.
● Collaborate with IT, security, and other departments to ensure alignment of privacy strategies with
technological and business developments.
● Manage and respond to data privacy inquiries and requests from data subjects.
● Conduct regular privacy audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented as necessary.
● Assist in development of training and awareness programs to promote a culture of data privacy
throughout the organization.
● Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations related to data privacy and adjust policies and practices
accordingly.
● Manage relationships with external data privacy consultants and service providers.
● Serve as the primary contact for data privacy-related internal and external communications.

SuperPowers Required:


● Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional
certifications in data privacy (such as CIPP) preferred.
● Minimum of 6 years of experience in data privacy or a related field.
● Knowledge of global data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and others.
● Strong understanding of information technology and data management systems.
● Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
