About the Team

The TikTok Shop design team is growing and we are seeking an experienced designer to join our Consumer Design Systems team. The mission of the team is to improve the quality, consistency, and product development efficiency for the consumer shopping experience on TikTok and the cross-functional teams that support it through the continuous development of scalable design solutions. This is a unique opportunity to play an essential role with influence over the quality of the entire end-to-end consumer experience.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain TikTok Shop's consumer design system, encompassing all that this entails, from token definition, component design, guidelines and documentation, accessibility standards, and measurement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and developers to understand requirements, define design guidelines, and implement scalable solutions that empower designers to move quickly and decisively.
- Create and document detailed design specifications, patterns, and reusable components, and the processes to support this work, in order to continuously evolve the design system with the organization's needs.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations of existing design systems to identify areas for improvement, gather feedback from stakeholders, and leverage user research and analytics data to inform iterative enhancements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on design systems, advocating for best practices, guideline adherence, and overall advocacy for the effective use and evolution of the design system.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Expertise in design system fundamentals, methodologies, and processes.
- Strong systems thinking, with demonstrated ability to think through interconnections across product areas and propose right-sized, scalable solutions.
- High bar for craft with meticulous attention to detail when creating design components and specifications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels and across time zones, and work together to achieve design goals.
- Excellent project management skills, with self-driven ability to prioritize effectively, manage progress, and consistently follow through on commitments.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design softward and tools.


Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of work experience working on design systems.
- Strong product design experience.
- Expertise with Figma and prototyping tools.
- Experience with e-commerce, user experience, and emerging trends in digital retail.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137244 - $255866 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role
