Senior Cost Manager – JLL
What this job involves: As a Senior Cost Manager at JLL, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for managing complex projects and programs while developing and mentoring team members. You'll leverage your advanced subject matter expertise to drive successful project implementations, innovate new concepts, and enhance service quality. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills as you will be accountable for client service, P&L team strategy, and business development. You'll represent JLL at industry events, contribute to the firm's reputation, and implement best practices that enhance our capabilities. Your expertise will help shape the future of our Project & Development Services (PDS) business while delivering exceptional results for our clients.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Leading project controls for multiple engagements, including large-scale complex projects simultaneously
- Partnering with team members to execute complex projects through all stages of development
- Presenting to key stakeholders across project teams and maintaining clear client communications
- Preparing detailed construction and project cost estimates from conceptual design through final documents
- Providing value engineering services and design option reviews based on market expertise
- Identifying and analyzing potential risks while developing effective mitigation strategies
- Coordinating with stakeholders to gather data and provide accurate, timely project status updates
- Preparing bid analyses, conducting reconciliations, and managing the change order review process
- Generating progress reports and conducting periodic project audits to identify process deviations
- Applying subject matter expertise to support the global community of practice
- Mentoring team members and direct reports to develop their capabilities
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of industry-specific requirements and their impact on design and construction
- Strong leadership experience with ability to mentor, develop and oversee team members
- Proven track record of successful program/complex project management and operations
- Excellent communication skills with ability to navigate difficult and complex client conversations
- Experience developing and implementing P&L team strategies aligned with business objectives
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships
- Experience with project controls, cost estimating, and risk management
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time (may fluctuate)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry-recognized credentials and/or certifications
- Experience sourcing new business and supporting pursuit strategies
- Background presenting at industry conferences and contributing to media content
- Knowledge of local market pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
- Experience conducting market studies and analyzing construction data
- Familiarity with PDS processes, systems, and reporting requirements
- Track record of innovation and implementing best practices
Estimated total compensation for this position:
130,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
