About the role

Growth Lead

Department: Growth

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Remote - United States

Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 / year

Description

Company Description
In 2019, we started building profitable startups from scratch. We brought together top engineering minds from places like Princeton and MIT to drive the highest success rate in the industry and turn company building into a science.

During that time, we’ve built ten high-growth companies, driving $200M+ in revenue. Along the way, we’ve developed an engineering approach to entrepreneurship rooted in algorithms and advanced mathematics.

Now, we’re working to automate company building to the point that we can press a button to launch profitable companies—ventures that can reinvest their own resources to become enterprises that help millions, or even billions, of people.

Key Responsibilities

Position Description

We are seeking a Growth Lead to serve as a high-impact operator and strategic thought partner across the Mechanism portfolio. Your mission is to act as a 'special operator' for growth—deploying into our portfolio companies to solve their most complex challenges and unlock non-linear EV growth.

This is a hybrid role. You will alternate between acting as a hands-on operator (stepping in to lead growth during a critical 0-to-1 phase or a high-stakes turnaround) and a systems architect (codifying your learnings into reusable, compounding playbooks that make the entire Mechanism OS smarter).

This is not a fit for a specialist. We are looking for a true growth generalist who thinks like a founder, operates with a clear understanding of business fundamentals (unit economics, P&L), and is obsessed with generating measurable, compounding results.

Three Key Missions

1. Drive Growth Through Strategic Experimentation & Analysis: Design, execute, and analyze high-impact growth experiments across portfolio companies. Apply advanced quantitative and attribution models to uncover causal drivers, optimize performance, and deliver measurable outcomes.

2. Operate & Scale Portfolio Businesses: Step into leadership roles when needed, bringing entrepreneurial judgment and operational rigor. Leverage expertise in unit economics, monetization, retention, and performance marketing to stabilize operations and drive sustainable growth.

3. Build Growth Systems & Leverage AI Innovation: Develop reusable playbooks, testing frameworks, and scalable models that elevate growth across multiple startups. Harness AI tools for automation, predictive modeling, creative testing, and performance insights to accelerate portfolio-wide impact.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

What You’ll Do

Act as a Deployed Operator: Step into portfolio companies as an interim growth leader to solve their most critical problems—whether it's cracking a new acquisition channel, fixing broken unit economics, or navigating a high-stakes pivot.

Engineer Compounding Impact (Portfolio Enterprise Value): Design and execute high-velocity, rigorous experiments across the portfolio to find and scale new growth levers. Your focus is not on one-off wins, but on discovering repeatable, high-leverage strategies.

Build the Playbook: Codify every learning from your engagements into reusable frameworks, systems, and playbooks. Your primary output is not just the result of your work, but the system you leave behind that makes the entire portfolio smarter.

Serve as a Strategic Advisor: Act as a trusted thought partner to our portfolio CEOs, helping them deconstruct complex growth problems, identify leverage points, and make high-consequence decisions with intellectual honesty.

What You’ll Bring
Proven Growth Leadership:
5+ years operating in startups and high-growth environments with direct P&L ownership, stabilizing businesses at inflection points, and driving sustainable scale.

Full-Stack Growth Expertise: Fluency across acquisition, lifecycle/CRM, product-led growth, and performance marketing, with end-to-end CRO rigor and comfort across major channels.

Analytical Depth: Mastery of measurement frameworks (MTA, incrementality, geo-lift), statistical testing, and revenue reconciliation—paired with strong modeling skills (LTV, CAC/payback, forecasting, retention).

AI-First Operator: Hands-on experience using AI to accelerate experimentation, automation, personalization, and predictive insights.
