FLSA Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly  Wage :  $29.90 - $36/hour

The working environment is a hospital setting with exposure to patients, residents, and families; sharps,
infectious diseases, biological and chemical hazards; machinery and equipment; and potentially extreme
temperatures and noise levels. Employees are required to follow all safety practices and protocols at all
times.
Essential Functions
- Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from Director/Supervisor as
outlined in the maintenance policies and procedures.
- Perform maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting,
trimming, sweeping, routine floor finishing etc., as necessary/directed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include,
plumbing, plastering, electrical carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, and in
accordance with established procedure.
- Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing
maintenance service.
- Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent
lights, room call lights, etc., and assists housekeeping in performing cleaning in very
high places.
- Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in
compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift/area.
- Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for patient and
resident comfort and convenience and Safety
- Follow established policies and procedures concerning infection control and standard
precautions when performing maintenance services in isolation rooms/areas.
- Assure that the work/assignment areas are safe and clean and equipment, tools,
supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, lunch or end of
work day, etc.
- Assists in reviewing contracts.
- Provides recommendations for resources to Plant Operations Director.
- Attends and participates in mandatory in-services, and educational classes, on the job
training programs, and workshops as they become available or are scheduled by the
manager.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Educate, teach, and/or mentor others as needed.
- Take charge of department tasks when Supervisor is unavailable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- In depth knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC is desired.

understand.
- Must be able to recognize details such as color and depth within a few feet of the
observer.
- Frequently operates computers, machinery, and other healthcare equipment.
